New Foreign-Invested Enterprises Established in China Up 14.7% in First 10 Months

Data released by China’s Ministry of Commerce shows that from January to October this year, 53,782 new foreign-invested enterprises were established nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%; actual use of foreign capital amounted to RMB 621.93 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 10.3%.

By industry, actual use of foreign capital in manufacturing reached RMB 161.91 billion, in services RMB 445.82 billion, and in high-tech industries RMB 192.52 billion. Among these, actual use of foreign capital in e-commerce services, medical equipment and machinery manufacturing, and aerospace and equipment manufacturing increased by 173.1%, 41.4%, and 40.6%, respectively.

By origin, actual investment from the UAE, UK, and Switzerland increased by 48.7%, 17.1%, and 13.2%, respectively (including investment data through free ports).
